Part of Apparent Cosplay Contest
Hopefully, our readers from France will help us with the inner details of what we’re about to tell you–if they’re not feverishly itching to participate in the contest themselves!
We’ve learned via the Sega France run blog The Blue Room of a contest underway in the territory. The translation is a bit rough, but all they appear to be asking for is a picture of the contestant and friends gathered together dressed as Sonic and company–sort of a creative take on cosplay. One grand prize winner will get something you may rarely see on Ebay ever again…plus something you may never see auctioned.
The big winner gets a Sonic 20th anniversary statue, plus a Sonic Generations European press kit, the CE, and what’s below: A giant, life-size Sonic Generations statue, the base of which measures 2 meters, or more than six and a half feet, in diameter. The blog says only about twenty of these have been made.

Four more second prizes will get everything but the giant statue. Five more third place winners will just get the press kit. The contest is only open to residents inside mainland France. Entries are only being taken until December 11th at midnight local time.
For the rest of us who can’t participate, we can only say Sega France just upped the ante for giveaways the rest of the year…if not all years. Your move, Free Stuff Fridays.

If that statue is over 6 feet tall than it’s not exactly life size, the proper term would be “larger than life”.
Heheh man if I ever get a castle…I’m so finding something like this and installing it in the grand hall LOL and I won’t stop there…the place will look like a great big pile of smash bros trophies when I’m done lolz.
o my god what its that dont worry dude it just a giant sonic statue in my room
How does someone even ship that?!
Wow. Good luck to whoever’s entering and I hope the winner enjoys that!
GOD DAMN EUROPE
Why can’t we have nice things like this?
I would give a thousand children away for the grand prize.
That’s it. SEGA’s gone too far. I know I can’t fit that ANYWHERE in my house, but still…… give us a fighting chance!
FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUCK!
If only I had dual citizenship and lived in France! DX
I SECOND THAT GOMU
“GODDAMN FRANCE”*
That’s more like it.
The base measures right at 6 feet, 6 inches. Looking at that and eye balling the Sonic models on it, I’m guessing C-Sonic is right around 5 1/2 feet and M-Sonic is about 6 1/2 feet or taller.
Larger than their actual height (unless it was updated without announcing it?), but wow, that is awesome. Probably worth a few hundred US dollars just for production, even more for being limited, and even MORE due to how many rabid collectors are in the Sonic fandom.
If I had a chance, I would buy one in a heart beat.
Also, fuck Europe! God dammit Sega!
RedFire: In a very big box.
I think it’s official. Sega hates Americans and that statue justifies it all. Seriously, look what they got and look what we got. I think whatever we did to Sega over the past few years, it must of been pretty horrible….. Unless SEGA’s hiding something for us Americans.
@Kris and Redfire
Same here.
Aw crap, I was thinking of getting off my ass and using my Tails doll cosplay to try and win, but then i saw france only and now im sad
What PreStalnic said.
However I’m happy for the lucky Frenchman/-woman that gets THAT baby.

OMFG! THATS ONE GIANT STATUE?!
THQ? What does THQ do here?
I’m jealous, but congrats to the Sonic fans living in France.
Fucking Sega Euro!!!!
*goes to corner and cries forever*
Well, it’s not like I actually want this. It’s not like I could fit this in my room, let alone my front door.
I want that in my bedroom O_O, if I can fit it in that is
