Only Grand Theft Auto III could stop Sonic from making the top of one sales chart this week.
Gamasutra reports that as of this evening, Sonic CD is the second best selling title for the week on the iPad. We want to be clear this is just for the iPad and not the whole slew of iOS devices. But in just two days of sale, the game beat out 3 iterations of Angry Birds also making the top 10, as well as Plants vs. Zombies HD, Kinectimals, and Words with Friends HD, among other strong titles in the iPad library.
With that said, as of this article’s publication, SCD sits 4th among the general top paid apps, and is the 7th top grossing app. There is a real chance this game could at least make the top 3 across the board before the day is done.

Sonic with innovation is a good thing as long as Sega and Sonic Team makes something that’s not a gimmick (ex. the werehog, a sword, or hoverboards) as well as it encouraging the traditional Sonic gameplay like Colors and Generations.

Sonic CD is an amazing game! It deserves top place! Now if only they made an adventure style Sonic game (with multiple characters S, T, & K ) with the Past/Future Poles, that would make for an even more EPIC game. I just love the awesome Past/Future Poles! >.<

Example:
HA in 2D is horrible and make the game easy and broken.
Boost make the game easy and broken.
New monitors with new shields and secret ways in level design is the right way for example.
About 3D… Sonic Adventure is the better 3D gameplay but the game is bugged and scenarios/music don’t have any sonic essence. Sonic Colors have much sonic essence in scenarios/music.
Normally, I’d be against buying a Sonic game in this day and age without waiting for it to hit the bargain bin first, but this is one of those exceptions that if Sega were to learn from their success, could mean good things for this franchise’s quality.
So, please. Do buy the game. It’s only five dollars. It’s almost a crime that this fantastic remake is that much cheaper than one of the franchise’s shittiest efforts.
And speaking on these terms, I also just realized that with this release, Ken Balough is willing to spill some beans on the next episode of that same effort mentioned. I can only hope they learned from their mistakes (and got over their damn egos and used the Retro engine). [/hopeswaitingtobecrushed]

alright look…. the games are doing fine….SEGA was just shaken up from the recent sonic games…(in my opinion it all started with Sonic 06.) It’s gotten people worried for sonic’s future believe it or not a few of the games before 06 got some good reviews despite their flaws and gimmicks.

I got this for XBLA a couple of days ago, having not played it before, definitely my favourite 2D Sonic game, 2nd being Sonic 3&K and 3rd being the highly underrated Sonic Chaos. But I ain’t gonna lie. I still prefer Sonic Adventure 2 XD sorry couldn’t help it. Anyway, yeah people! Buy this game and wipe Angry Birds clean of the face of the top 10! (Because it SUCKS! Well, I think so)
