First Official Tease of What’s To Come
It’s been a busy day in terms of news about Episode II, and it’s about to get a little busier. Earlier today, the first official word on Sonic 4: Episode II was made public via a post by Ken Balough on the official Sonic 4 forums. The hint read as follows:
If you’re an Episode II fan
I would go back to where the Sonic 4 Campaign first began
In a month filled with presents and Christmas hams
think of the day, the HMS Warrior first swam
For clarification, the HMS Warrior was a British warship that first “swam” on December 29th, 1860. How this date in December relates to Episode II and the beginning of the Sonic 4 “campaign” is still unclear and will certainly be a hot topic of debate in the coming days. This is a developing story, and TSSZ News will continue to pass along any new information. Can”t wait until the 29th!
Also, before that last article was removed, someone said that the news would come on 29th on Sega Blogs, where he said that the whole Sonic 4 campaign began. Just wondering, which one of you guys here said that?
The first trailer on the 29th maybe? That’s next Thursday.

Why has Ken gotten poetic with these hints?
The start of the campaign… wasn’t the character countdown? Do we have to return to that blog post on that date for the first hint? Probably a lead-up to not-cryptically announcing Tails if that’s the case, but that’s the earliest part I can think of for that campaign we all took part in.
Gonna go check up on that.
@Anonymouse There’s also a chance that 29 and 1860 might be key numbers. I doubt Ken would just pick the HMS for Dec. 29th
the 29th is my birthday, what a coincidence.
Sonic The Hedgehog 2: Episode II’s first public demo will be released on December 29th and the playable level will be a Water level with ships and such referencing the day the HMS Warrior warship went into the ocean.
Either that or a Trailer featuring a water level on the 29th.
If S4 E2 is going to be released in 2012 are we thinking after June 2012? Bit early for a trailer then.

The image I linked to above is of the iPad edition of Sonic 4 Episode 1. Notice anything different about Sonic’s model? Does it look, I dunno, less “glossy”? I think that’s what he meant by, “I would go back to where the Sonic 4 Campaign first began.” The iPad version of S4E1 uses Sonic’s model/sprite from S4E2.
