Steam, Amazon, Gamestop Offering Deals
If you’re looking for a last minute gift for a friend, or for yourself, and waited to grab Sonic Generations until now, you’re in luck. There are several specials available for the game on multiple platforms.
Gamestop and EB Games, for one, are offering the XBOX 360 and PS3 editions at $39.99, a 20 percent discount from the MSRP. On the 3DS, the price cut is to $29.99. And today only, we’re told, Gamestop and EB Games retailers in Canada are selling the console game for even less, at $29.99 in Canadian dollars–though the 3DS version is not discounted there.
Online, at least, Best Buy is offering similar discounts domestically. All physical copies of the game can be had for $29.99.
On Steam, the digital download has been discounted for a while. That can be bought at the 25 percent discounted price of $22.49. But that price has been beat on Amazon.com, where the digital download is going for just $14.99.

JESUS CHRIST!!!
I bought it off Amazon last night, it comes with a Steam product code as well. Playing the game on Xbox 360, then playing it on my PC (at least 5 times more powerful than an Xbox 360) is incredible. 60 freakin’ frames per second is absolutely delicious. I can’t wait for Sonic on the next-gen of consoles.
@Chocoburger – Its 60 fps? Nice
I hope the Wii U will support 60 fps. Can the current gen consoles do 60 fps?
@Ricardo. They CAN, if the graphics don’t bog down the hardware. Generations runs fairly smooth on 360 from what i’ve seen until you get to a part with intense water effects, or lots of action going on. I play it on PC with a GTX 480 graphics card so anything less than 60fps at all times for me is painful to watch.
Actually, the price cut on Steam is down to $37.46, although that may change with an upcoming daily discount (if Generations gets one at all).
To Murdersmash: What about things that don’t really need a high framerate, like slow-paced stuff?
