Holiday Rush Ends on Positive Note
The last week of shopping in the UK before Christmas was a good one for Sonic Generations, even as the normally powerful Mario and Sonic franchise slipped a bit for the week.
The official GFK Chart Track ranks indicate the combined sales of all three Generations editions were strong enough to lift the game to 15th on the top 40 for the week ending December 24th. Meanwhile, Mario and Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games, which ranked 8th the previous week, fell a spot last week to 9th.
Interestingly enough, the rise came with little to no change in rank when it came to individual console charts. The 3DS edition of Generations remained 6th on the 3DS software chart week to week. On the PS3, the game only climbed one place to 10th. On XBOX 360, Generations actually dropped one place, and is now 15th among 360 software.
While these changes in chart position are minor, it is nonetheless encouraging to see these games holding their positions relatively successfully. We will continue to monitor their performance in the coming weeks and pass on any updates.

“han impulsado a Sega para que a partir de ahora, sea éste y no el moderno de ojos verdes quien siga la línea principal de juegos”
wat.
“they have prompted Sega to make from now on, it it and not the modern green eyes who follow the main line of games”
double wat.
what’s with the random spanish?
When I translate it, I get:
have prompted Sega to from now on, be it modern and green eyes who follow the main line of games
“han impulsado a Sega para que a partir de ahora, sea éste y no el moderno de ojos verdes quien siga la línea principal de juegos”
wat
…
Maximum case of [citation needed] right here! Q___Q
It appears some of you caught a little piece of something I’ve now learned was some part of a Spanish April Fools piece that was Tweeted to us.
Louis cleaned it up for now. Sorry about that!

Which Sonic game (non and canon) has sold the most copies in history?
It makes me wonder that if SEGA made a Mario and Sonic Adventure, they would make millions and millions and millions and millions of copies sold. More than the PoS = Piece of Shit = CoD, is what I’m trying to say.
I think the best selling Sonic game ever would be the 16-bit version of Sonic 2, then Sonic Adventure 2. My knowledge of this is outdated though, so it may have changed. (If it’s still accurate though, SEGA should note to put 2s at the end of Sonic’s titles, even when they aren’t followed up from anything.)
Yes, is a sort of April Fools in some places. I got trolled a lot today :c
and the correct translation for those interested is:
‘(They) have promped SEGA that from now on, let it be him and not the modern green-eyed one to carry on with the main series of games.’
I thought it was between Sonic 2, Sonic Adventure 2: Battle, Sonic Heroes, and Sonic Unleashed.
This is good news, cause generations deserves it
oh and off topic: sonic 4 ep 2 will be announced tomorrow on gamespot =D
