Acoustic Twists on Tracks You Know and Love
The instrumentation of a song dictates how we as listeners will perceive it. For example, some fans will argue that Sonic 4: Episode 1 has acceptable music that is simply presented poorly. With that in mind, TSSZ spotlights FireGXLOL, a YouTube user who has put an acoustic spin on both well-known and obscure tracks from across this franchise’s history. Included below are two examples of his work: Bridge Zone from the Master System version of the original Sonic the Hedgehog, and the World Map theme from Sonic Unleashed. He has many additional songs on his YouTube channel, and we highly encourage you to check them out.
That wraps up Fan Fridays for 2011. If you have something great that you think we should feature in 2012, send us a link at fansonfriday@tsssznews.com!

IM GONNA DROWN YOU IN CHEMICAL PLANT AND *DIES*
Oh yeah! FireGXLOL is awesome.
Finally getting the credit he deserves.
Yeah, He sure is
I got his “Race To Win” cover on my Phone
Oh, hey! It’s Mardic!
Remember to credit his awesome sinigng for the vocal covers FireGXLOL does!
Are there any videos of him actually playing ? Not to sound like a complete doubter, it’s just the audio sounds almost midi like.
Tailz, I agree with you. The reason why I think it sounds MIDI-like is because he just plays the song without any spin some artists give. Granted, I only listened to the embedded tracks, but they sound very ‘basic’ to me.
It’s about time you guys found him :3
I personally like his Rooftop Run – Day and Follow me Acoustic mixes.
Ah yes, this guy. Despite his personality, he has some pretty cool music.
I Listen to his Play List all the Time ^ ^ He’s a great Artist.
T-That Bridge Zone…
I almost cried. Manly tears that is.
About time he’s on here! Happy New Year!
Now, While I LOVE FireGXLOL’s Work – He’s A Smartass.
And i can homing attack & Mighty Mardic should appear on here for his beast time eater dupstep remix! i love that song
@SonicFanDj Mardic did not make that remix. He took two songs that already existed and played them at the same time on top of each other.
It’s a bit difficult to tell whether he’s really playing or just using a high quality sample library. Even if it’s not a real guitar, his MIDI programming skills are pretty good.
Hey wow! This is pretty cool! For those who wonder, i am a MIDI artist first and a guitar player second. These acoustic mixes were basically me just experimenting with how realistic i can make MIDI sound, but if you want to hear actual recorded guitar playing, i have plenty to choose from. Thanks for all the love and support!
