The Resurrection Begins Inside
While most subscribers to Archie Comics’s Sonic Universe may already have the issue, the rest of us have to wait until tomorrow, if not later to receive the latest edition, which concludes the Babylon Rising arc.
The issue opens with multiple areas of Sonic’s world under siege, including New Mobotropolis. All the meanwhile, the Babylon Garden has been found, but one thing could make these skirmishes for naught–since everything could be destroyed. Tracy Yardley penned the script, and also helps with cover and issue art. Jim Amash, Phil Felix and Stephen Downer also handle art duties, with Matt Herms helping out with the cover art as well.
The cover and first five pages of issue 36 follow Archie’s official synopsis.
“Babylon Rising” Part Four: Babylon Garden has been found! New Mobotropolis is under siege! The Battle Bird Armada attacks from the sky, and Sonic enters into a desperate race against the Babylon Rogues! As chaos reigns, an ancient secret will be revealed that could destroy not only the cities, but the entire world! You cannot miss the stunning conclusion to artistic legend Tracy Yardley’s debut Sonic Universe arc!

Truly they have taken this generic uncreative cliche to new levels. Generations and Colors plays around with these tropes for laughs, I guarantee you when Ian writes stuff like this he isn’t being ironic he thinks it’s “badass” and original.
@sajsonicxx14
Lol what makes u think sega is being ironic about the tropes and the writer of the books isn’t ? Sounds like someone is taking blue hedgehogs too seriously here…
We already know the Babylon Rogues were the descendants of aliens in the games. Why did they make the Battle Bird Armada descendants of aliens too?
@SSJSonicXX14
You know what’s a good sign of someone simply using an opportunity to bash on Ian rather than give legitimate criticism of the writing? When they blame Ian for the writing in an issue written by someone else entirely.
^This.
Sonic, you are awesome. Enough said XD
SSJSonicXX14….. the script was done by Tracy Yardley. Way to make yourself look like a complete tool.
Plus, who says Generations and Colors was being ironic? Sonic games and comics are designed for all ages. So, of course on some levels Sonic has to be a little cliche’ because younger kids enjoy a hero who triumphs over an almost unstoppable villain.
