Judge: “She Is Not To Do Anything For Archie Comics Productions”

Archie’s legal woes continue. CBR has reported that a temporary restraining order has been filed to prevent co-CEO Nancy Silberkliet from interacting with the company in any way. This most recent complication comes hot on the heels of a lawsuit filed against Silberkliet by Jonathan Goldwater, Archie’s other co-CEO, as the two continue to fight for control of the company.

The company’s legal conflicts have been plentiful recently. Just yesterday, Silberkliet admitted to violating a previous restraining injunction almost immediately when she spoke to freelance writers about the creation of an anti-bullying comic. Her defense of the contact was as follows:

I thought it was a good idea to do a book about bullying, because I’m right here in the midst of it myself. I’m the one being harassed and abused here.

Goldwater, Silberkliet, and the company as a whole have been embroiled in this battle for many months, dating back to July when Silberkliet was sued for “inappropriate and offensive language and behavior”. As these legal issues continue to grow in number, it is important to note that Archie’s existence hangs in the balance, as a less-than-ideal resolution to these conflicts may result in the permanent dissolution of the company.

The legal process continues with a contempt hearing, currently set for February 2nd. We’ll pass on more information as it becomes available.

figures…she won’t be happy till she totals the whole damn company. Would someone plz run this beotch over before she kills off something we’ve enjoyed for years. The Penders deal is bad enough but I’m sure a company like this can only take so much before it collapses.

Worst part of all this is if Archie were to be critically wounded by this Ken Penders firmly believes he can get the licence.

How? Frick if I know.

I hate to say this because it sound’s so cruel but hopefully Nancy is taken out of Archie all together from how all this sound’s too me she’s got serious mental issues.

I don’t think it will, at least immediately, but it’ll take years, if not decades, to restabilize itself.

Sharper Image went out of business due to some bad decisions made 10 years prior. Borders Bookstores went out of business because K-Mart decided to mess with it 15 years ago.

This is the sort of thing that CAN put Archie out of business in the same way as those companies did, but if Jonathan Goldwater can keep his cool and run the company effectively and intelligently, it can bounce back. However, he’ll need to run Archie differently than what he’s doing now.
