16 Artists, 45 Tracks, and More to Come
We received word late yesterday afternoon that the first proper community release of remixed and original Sonic tunes saw release yesterday.
Simply titled The Sonic Stadium Music Album 2011, it contains over two hours of music spanning more than forty tracks of music from over a dozen artists. The collaborative project, headed by scener VizardJeffhog, had been in development since late last year.
A wide variety of Sonic music, from Sonic Triple Trouble‘s Sunset Park and Sonic and Knuckles‘s Lava Reef, to some re-imaginations from the 2006 Sonic and Sonic Generations, many eras of the blue blur’s 20 years in music are covered. A few original themes are also sprinkled into the mix.
To download the album, go here. Already the release has gained much positive praise among those who have listened, but don’t worry–there’s more to come. A second TSS music compilation is planned for release later this year.

I’m listening to the album right now, and I believe it to be a bit of a mixed bag. This however may be caused by my unusual taste for music. It’s anyway hard to not appreciate the work of these people.

Yes quite a number of hits here…My favorite is Freen in Green’s Unawakening Float! I loved that song from the first time I ever heard it…funny note I swear I when first ever listened to it before even playing that level…I fell in love with it before I played the level lolz. Also that Mechanical Resonance is also damn good…I was hoping someone would grab that one up and remix it…that is damn awesome too. There are so many other awesome ones too…All I can say is..you guys should be shining among the stars along side those who make the sonic official music.
I love the obscurity of some of these tracks, namely from the GameGear games. It’s about time someone gave these 8-bit tunes a touch-up, and finally someone did a Sunset Park remix that ISN’T of Act3! =P
As one of the people involved in this remix album, I just wanted to say thank you for all of the compliments and kind words! We all had a lot of fun doing this, and it was something we put a lot of heart and effort into. I’m really glad to hear that people are enjoying it, and I appreciate the overall positive reception this album has received.
