It May be a Fighters Megamix After All
A report today published by Japan focused Andriasang suggests neither Team Ninja nor Sega may be done crossing characters over to Dead or Alive 5.
Citing an interview with Team Ninja head Yousuke Hayashi from the latest Famitsu magazine, the article says with all the trouble both parties have gone to include Virtua Fighter‘s Akira Yuki in the game, he may not be the only Sega character coming along for the ride.
Notice how we said Sega character and not necessarily Virtua Fighter character. The Andriasang article stated uncertainty as to whether Hayashi meant more from the latter are in the pipeline, or whether Team Ninja was allowed to dip deeper into the Sega pool.
While that’s an unlikely possibility, it would open up a lot of possibilities to resurrect fan favorites and classic characters from Sega’s expansive library. Hopefully, those in charge have realized by now interspecies mingling is not well advised.
Elsewhere, the article states Akira will basically play in DOA5 like he does in Virtua Fighter, and that the crossover was Hayashi’s idea.

Random Sonic in DoA5 FTW? Seriously though, it’d be great to see some long lost characters come back. If these companies wanna pretend to be Capcom with their newer fighting game entries, they should copy one of the few things Capcom did properly: bring back forgotten characters (like Cody in SFIV or Arthur in MvC3).
Sonic in DOA…..something about that statement seems off.
“WHAT A GREAT VIEW!”
Bring either Honey or Bahn and I will be a happy fan.
Hornet or the AM2 Palmtree please.
Sonic in DOA5? BRING IT!
Did anyone else read “crossing characters” at the beginning as “cross dressing characters”?
