Will Ryo and Vyse Return to Current Consoles?
An interview with European website GameReactor was intended to center on the coming re-release of Jet Set Radio. But at the very end of the interview, Sega Europe associate brand manager Ben Harbone heavily implies two other celebrated Dreamcast titles may soon be on their way to the digital download arena–including perhaps the system’s most celebrated series.
At the end of the interview, when prompted whether fans should voice what DC classics should be re-released next, Harborne appears to predict what those voices will say: Shenmue and Skies of Arcadia. He adds:
“Those are a couple of our most requested games. [....] I can’t say yes or no, but…we may be working on them.”
While it appears to be more of a tease to fans than anything else, these are the types of things that usually lead to proper announcements down the road. We should note that our independent source correctly told us last year about Jet Set Radio’s pending re-release, and also specifically mentioned Sonic Adventure 2 in the works, but made no indication on whether Shenmue or Skies of Arcadia would be coming.
We’ll let you know anything new that we learn on this front.

Dreamcast Collection 2 perhaps?
I dunno.
YES.
Skies of Arcadia I’ve always wanted to play and I would love to be able to play Shenmue again. So, yes please!!
If true, that’s WAY better than the first collection was.
Oh, PLEASE BE TRUE.
Skies of Arcadia and Shenmue were on multiple discs on the Dreamcast. Not on the Ganecube and Xbox versions tho. But being bigger than say your average Dreamcast game. I wonder if they would end up doing a disc release for those games or a second collection volume. As their file size for a download only game may be rather large. And sadly there are still countries out there that charge a premium for Internet with a large cap. >.<
YES PLEASE.
Never played Shenmue, so maybe i’ll check it out. Hey I’ve been wondering something. Maybe they’re re-releasing all these old games to get fan feedback. If enough of it sells, they might consider a sequel, kinda like what they’re doing with Sonic 4. I mean it could be, one can hope.
I want to play Shenmue really badly, I never owned a Dreamcast
Shenmue is timeless.
And still no sign of a Adventure 2 re-release….
…and thus the sound of hundreds of thousands of cult-status fans of Shenmue cried happily. They would once again be able to try and avenge their father’s death…
All with that integral first step…
…
…feeding the neighborhood cat.
Keep it up SEGA! I won’t have to buy a Dreamcast
