Out on Steam; Soon on PSN; Mobile Release Details Revealed
Welcome to Episode IIsday.
Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode II was released first to Steam early this morning. It should be available to Playstation Network users today as well. Tomorrow, the game rolls out to XBOX Live and, as we learn in a report from Dutch website SegaOnline, Android devices with NVIDIA Tegra 3 chips. On Thursday, the iOS rollout begins, according to the report.
We also have some price points for the mobile game. SegaOnline’s report cites a €5.49 price point for S4E2 on both Android and iOS. In American dollars, that would put it at about $7. So it appears that while console prices will stay at $15 for a while, the mobile price will be even more reasonable than upon Episode I’s release. UPDATE: Indeed, Sega has confirmed a $6.99 price point for the mobile editions of S4E2. In the UK, the mobile price will be £4.99.
As before, TSSZ will afford two reviews of Sonic 4: Episode II. Ryan Bloom will review the console edition, while Louis Balzani will tackle the mobile edition. Look for both reviews shortly after the full S4E2 rollout.

thank you
im buying the ios version of the game on thursday then
Really? Only Tegra3-Devices?
They never learn, that die Galaxy S2 ist one of the most popular smartphones …
NVIDIA Tegra 3 has a exclusivity on Android for a while, Google Play will get it in a few weeks.
I got tegra 2 last year, so if they wanna push tegra 3 exclusively then they can kiss my money goodbye lol.
Will this really be coming out on PSN today? I thought I’d read somewhere that microsoft won’t allow mulit-platform downloadable games to be released on any console but their own first.
I can confirm that S4:E2 is currently out on the US PlayStation Store. I just searched “sonic 4″ a few minutes ago and Episode II is up there and ready to buy for $14.99.
@SSC
Thank you!! I’ve been checking the PSN blog constantly waiting for the update post. But thanks to you I’m downloading it now =D
Since there is no Wii version I have to settle for the iOS version, hopefully the controls work better than Sonic 4 HD for iPad.
SUPER SONIC DROPS LIKE A ROCK!

Despite the rest of the physics of ep 1, I thought Super Sonic controlled better in Sonic 4 than the originals because your control over him was more precise (which is what people complained about. The physics were too precise, eliminating momentum. But with super Sonic, you don’t need momentum to go fast, so it’s probably best if you could just as easily come to a stop unless you force the momentum to stay but holding the direction down even in ep 2. lol)
Honestly, I have no clue. lol
@Amuro: no Regular androids will get it too
edit i meant @Ruki also would you happen to be shadowofruki on youtube
I bought it and my friend and I really enjoy the co op play. Good game sega.
Pass.
Awful demo!! It ends after 2 minutes playing!!! Wasn´t an act short enough??
Sorry, but I´ll get it when it´s 800 points or less.
I don’t get it, why is the mobile version cheaper than the console version (by 8 bucks!)? Aren’t they the same game? One just has better graphics right?
Anybody who buys episode 2 is a racist!
