Pushed Back to 2013, New Trailer Released
Fans of Sega and Gearbox Software will have one fewer reason to visit their local game retailer this year. Today, Sega and 20th Century Fox’s gaming division announced that the long-awaited Aliens: Colonial Marines will be delayed into 2013. The game, which has been in development in various forms since 2001, appears to finally be in the homestretch of development as today’s press release heavily emphasized this delay as the last one the title will see. Randy Pitchford, president of Gearbox Software, had this to say in the press release:
I am thrilled to announce the definitive launch date for Aliens: Colonial Marines. Aliens: Colonial Marines is the culmination of a life-time of inspiration from the films and relentless passion and drive from the exceptionally talented development team behind the scenes.
The announcement was partnered with a new trailer for the game, which we have included below. Sega’s entire press release can be read here. Aliens: Colonial Marines is set to be released on February 12, 2013 with a Wii U release date coming “at a later time.”
