“It will still be out in July,” Assures Developer
Hints that we reported on late last week have indeed led to something larger. Though Sega has officially said nothing on the matter, Platinum Games has confirmed on their website that brawler Anarchy Reigns won’t hit its early July release. If they are to be believed, however, it won’t miss by that much.
“While our work on the game is finished, localized, and ready to go, as publisher, SEGA gets to make the final decision as to when it is released,” says the developer’s announcement. In a supplementary video transcribed by VG247, a representative states Sega is simply trying to peg the best time to release the game:
In the West, Sega is looking for the best time to put it out. It will still be out in July. There will still be ways for you to get it if you know where to go. We’re still 100 per cent behind the game and we still want to connect with you and play with you and have a good time. So let’s make sure that happens no matter what bad news we get.
That said, the last time Sega mentioned anything officially about Anarchy Reigns was last December. A huge tell as to the fate will be if the game makes it to E3 in 2 weeks’ time. We’ll keep you updated.
