Neate Teases “The Biggest Piece of Fan Service” for ASR Transformed

“When People See That, They’re Going to Love It”

What is Joe Neate hiding from fans?  The Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed producer said in an interview published Monday with Australian website Rocket Chainsaw that Sega and Sumo have a sweet unlockable surprise in store for players of the upcoming game.

Posed with a question about unlockables, Neate let out this tantalizing taste of what’s to come:

I don’t think I can talk about the details, but yes, there’s going to be lots. Our development studio is staffed by Sega nerds basically, so every bit of fan service they can possibly do, they will do and then some. So there’s going to be loads of hidden things. The final unlock in the game is like the biggest piece of fan service you could possibly want, so yeah – when people see that, they’re going to love it.

Later in the Q&A, Neate implies there is basically no larger reason beind ASR Transformed‘s removal of the Sega in the title–the game will still have many Sega IPs represented, he said.

“There’s no reason as such for the ‘Sega’ going missing, because ironically there’s even more Sega characters and IPs in this game than there were in the last, so it’s a bit misleading,” Neate said.

Also from the interview, we should expect another info dump around the time of the San Diego Comic Con next month, and likely for Sonic Boom as well.  TSSZ will bring you complete coverage of those reveals when they happen.
