MAGFest in Washington, DC has become increasingly relevant in the world of video game conventions.  Next January will mark the festival’s 11th convention, and one of classic gaming’s icons is now confirmed to be there for the event.

Yuzo Koshiro will be coming to the 2013 MAGfest, according to the ANIME News Network.  Koshiro is best known to Sonic fans as the man behind the 8-bit Sonic the Hedgehog soundtrack.  He also composed tunes for the Streets of Rage trilogy in the 1990s, and had a hand in both Shenmue and Shenmue II.  Those are just a few titles that are part of Koshiro’s illustrious history in video game music that spans more than 25 years.

Koshiro will host a panel, as well as a DJ session.  MAGFest will begin January 3rd in Washington, DC.  Thanks to Tetris for tipping us.  If you have news to share, be sure to share it with us.  Click Send Tips at the top of every page, or tip us on Twitter.
