Naka, Prope Turn to Digimon Development

A Glimmer of Hope for a Return to Sonic?

Yuji Naka’s independent development studio Prope hasn’t found much success with its own unique IP over the years, so the company is trying something new: Working with other companies’ IP.

Case in point: Siliconera reports that Prope Digimon Adventure for the Playstation Portable.  Mr. Naka himself made the announcement on his Twitter page in Japanese.  The RPG will be out next year.

For Prope, it is the latest in a strong working relationship with publisher Namco Bandai.  In Japan, the two companies paired up to release Ivy the Kiwi? in Japan and Fishing Resort.  Still, given how Naka and Prope are now entrusted with the latest in a fairly popular franchise again, maybe the prospect of a contribution to future Sonic games doesn’t seem so far-fetched anymore.
