Japan Gets it Next Week
Sega continues its support of the Nintendo 3DS by adding another classic Sonic title from the Game Gear era to its Virtual Console service.
Sega of Japan announced today that the GG version of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 will be available to purchase next Wednesday on the system. One should expect the same 3D enhancements on this title as the other GG Sonic games on the service. For reference, those are Sonic Blast, Sonic Triple Trouble, and Sonic Labyrinth.
The game will be available for 300 yen. It’s not been officially announced to re-release in the West, but it is almost a certainty the game will find its way on to the domestic 3DS Virtual Console, and perhaps not long after the Japanese release.
