Sega Lets Ninty Do the Dirty Work

An official post on Nintendo’s UK website detailing upcoming releases confirms Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed will not make it onto the Nintendo 3DS this year.

The game, according to the schedule, has been bumped back to a more vague February 2013 release.  Sega originally pegged the release to occur next week in most territories.

No official word has come down from Sega on the move.  However, multiple retailers in Europe and North America already bumpedASR Transformedon 3DS to 2013 several days ago.

In a way, it may be good for Sega and Nintendo to make this move. ASR Transformed will get enough polish to be presentable on Nintendo 3DS, and it gets out of the way of a flooded Holiday market, where existing versions of the game are not performing well by nearly all indications.  It can only help to bolster Sega’s Q4 earnings next year.  But it also means even more pressure is now on the XBOX 360, Playstation 3, and Playstation Vita versions to perform.
