Going Back to the Future of Sonic Fan Games
Late last week, a new trailer for the upcoming revived Sonic Fan Game Sonic XG was released by its current developer Joseph Waters.
The new trailer, which is below, adds Tails and Knuckles to the mix, as well as a Metal Sonic boss, and some Super forms. In all, an array of stages are shown off, and Waters says some were refit to accommodate each character’s unique abilities.
Waters also acknowledged he has been in contact with one-time XG dev Christian Whitehead, being sent a wide array of old material from the project. That, hopefully, will help the rest of us see XG’s completion sooner rather than later. We will keep you informed of the SFG’s progress.

I like the level styles. But the sprites look a little strange, and I’m not a fan of “faster you go, shift camera ahead” mechanic.
This is brilliant, exactly what sonic 4 should ve been! Graphics n sprites are great levels look good. And metal sonic yeahhh ! Can’t wait for the final version! Congrats to those working on it.
