Hez Still Hard at Work
On Monday, Sonic Classic 2 developer Hez released a new short video concerning the upcoming Sonic fan game. You can take a look at it below.
The video details some improvements made to the Circus City stage. Updated graphics are featured, as is a new gimmick where Sonic takes to the air with the help of some of the stage’s balloons. The SFG is still well into development, but there’s still no idea of when we’ll see a finished product.

I’m not really a fan of the mash-up of colors, nor the slippery-looking controls :/ It looks and sounds very much like it’s trying way too hard to be a classic Sonic game, and it looks like its suffering for it. .
A Sonic casino stage needs to look vivid and colorful, the color palette being dominated by blue and purple just makes it look super drab.
WAY too much going on in the background. The palette just clashes all over the place. He needs to have two distinct colors for the foreground and background.
…sigh…
My main gripe is still the dull circus-style track accompanying the level. Seriously, it sounds even blander than Sonic 4′s Casino Street.
Judging from this track alone, I can tell the music isn’t gonna be the memorable.
It’s funny how the YouTube video page’s comments are mostly positive, and this pages comments are all negative.
Y’know, if they just sped up the song it could be very jazzy and fun.
Sonic Classic was a great game. The composer of this game’s much (Classic 2) is also good but the music is unfitting for what’s supposed to be fast-paced and full of action.
The casino levels in general aren’t very fast and full of action. Just bumpers and gimmicks that slow you down and annoy you. Why do people still make these levels?
seriously another fan made sonic game. i mean there3s like sonic xg, sonic dimensions all that stuff. at least some of them are good
Jeez the Zone doesn’t even look at that bad. I just wish the Music was more upbeat. Other than that it’s fine to me…
You people act like you’ve made Sonic Stages your whole life….
