Finally, fixes for it’s many bugs and glitches
Steve Lycett, from Sumo Digital, has reported at Sonic Stadium forums that a patch is coming soon for Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed. It is, in fact, already developed, and just waiting confirmation from SEGA. As soon as it gets it, it will be submitted to the different platforms digital services and it will be ready to reach us people soon.
The patch will contain several fixes to most of the bugs and glitches who has been found has reported on the game, so let’s hope the most visceral of them, like the save delete bug or the no-transforming back into a car when you finish an all-star move are fixed.
You can read Steve Lycett’s full statement, down below.
We’re certainly not ignoring these, indeed we’ve been busy both before and after the holidays addressing them. We’ve dropped new code with SEGA to check out the corrections, and once they’re confirmed, the next step is getting them submitted to the platformer holders.
So it’s coming, but you have to understand that this process takes time. Much as we’d love to push out instant updates, it’s not quite that easy. For example we found and fixed the Wii U version the day after it was reported, but it took well over two weeks for the fix to get checked out, submitted and approved. Same is true here, even when we’re satisfied it’s all fine, it still needs checking by SEGA QA, then by the platform holders. Trust me, we’re trying to get it to you as quickly as possible.
…that said, hopefully not too much longer…!

They should patch the game to make it less impossibly hard then I can play it.
It’s really a shame that the Wii U patch couldn’t be published for that long. A lot of game review site reviewed the non-patched game, resulting lower-than-they-should-be aggregated scores on sites like Metacritic (not to mention the players that couldn’t progress through the game).
Cough-steam-cough-update whenever you want.
Consoles do hold back things in this regard. Badly. And from the signs, the next generation is not improving. See Future Success: Steambox for more details.
I hope this means the online physics will work properly. Gently taping your opponent online launches you back at break neck speeds.
Have the leaderboards been taking over but that one dbag yet? You know the one who always does with Sonic games.
@Viking ZX
I almost want it to be bad so I can laugh at the people who’ve spent the past 3 years swearing up and down that Microsoft and Sony are both waiting for new consoles to change it instead of fixing the awful patching process now. Microsoft plagued Windows 8 with this kind of shit, they somehow make the 360 dashboard worse every year I don’t see how the next Xbox won’t be more of the same bullshit unless it’s being designed in complete isolation from Ballmer and his legion of yesmen. Sony on the other hand completely wrecked the PS3′s store giving it a 15+ startup time and interface lag out the ass, the Plus features like automatic download of patches and cloud save backups are nice a shame they aren’t standard features.
Steambox has to jump a lot of hurdles, publishers are cagey enough about making PC ports as is despite the data Value gives them to show how worthwhile is and they’re supposed to convince them to develop for a linux box?
@SSj
Guess it remains to be seen… how will Nintendo develop their online efforts? They’ve done some serious work on that front recently with 3DS and Wii U.
It hasn’t been that bad, but this glitch once happened to me in the 360 version where….well I don’t remember too well, but in Starlight Carnival in Grand Prix mode, I fell off the track, and then the game kept re-spawning me in the fall zone, so I just kept falling, and falling, and falling, over and over again. I eventually had to quit and restart.
@Jak: lol yes! XD
@sonicriders02 That happened to me, too.
Aside from the stars problem, I hope that means they fixed the Avatar costume glitching. About half of my costumes don’t work, but I’m really looking forward to racing alongside Ralph in my Vanellope costume.
I just want drifting fixed to be how it was in ASR.
I haven’t had a peoblem with anything one’s mentioned so far. My beef is the abusable exploits specifically while flying that can allow you to fly wherever you want, thus making for some unbelievable lap times.

That and the lap glitch, primarily in Hidden Palace where you can ramp off one of the first jumps just right in order to trick the game into thinking you’ve passed the finish line well before you should have. And yes, people abuse this one all the time online.
