The game has broken it’s street date…again.
Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed for Nintendo 3DS release date is really close, but it’s might be even closer to some lucky people. It has been reported that the game has broken it’s street date in Australia ( and maybe in other countries too), and thanks to that we can now see the first real gameplay footage from te game.
It has been published by youtube user Dafstervideos, who has already purchased an early copy of the game. In his video, he shows 16 and a half minutes of gameplay in several tracks and using different characters. We can see, for example, Galactic Parade or Graffiti City in all it’s 3DS graphics splendour.
You can see the video down below.

Framerate looks good!
Finally
Okay…at second glance, the framrate doesn’t look so hot…
On the bright side, the 3DS version is really graphically comparable to its console brothers!
But I would have preferred better frame rate over graphics…
Guess I’ll be taking a trip to EB games again
I’m surprised it’s broken already!
woo yeah take that america! GO AUSTRALIA
According to the user who uploaded the video, the graphics look better than MK 7′s.
Important points:
Transforming works.
The controls seem to work great.
There’s a World Tour Mode.
There’s Online, Local, and Download Play.
There’s StreetPass functionality.
There are Game Add-Ons. That’s DLC. “In single race mode, there’s 4 places reserved for DLC”.
Basically, everything major seems to be here, plus 3DS-specific stuff.
This article makes grammar Nazis cry.
Really impressed with the game, very good looking. Shame about the camera’s framerate being so low.
GAME LOOKS FANTASTIC!!
Also, according to NintendoLife, it was supposed to come out on Feb. 1st in Europe….not sure how true that is, but this could explain the fact about why so many people in the UK have it. It’s not out in America until Feb 12th, still.
Looks awesome. only thing i noticed different is the Laser robots are missing in Galactic Parade, but thats understandable due to hardware limitation.
@Ricardo The uploader did state the frame rate is more down to his crappy webcam than the actual game itself.
Besides a few poly drops and texture swaps, this LOOKS like the HD version.
Well finally… when is this game going to be officially released again? First day buy for me.
Hey Sega, the 3DS really is graphically competent… take that into account when making your next Sonic game…
@darkgomugomu
Not really everything was built from the groundup because the 3DS can’t handle their engine, if you actually put the two side by side you’d notice how much detail they packed into the original game Starlight Carnival looks very static on the 3DS for example but with the way the framerate is already chugging during parts of it I guess that’s understandable.
@SSJSonicXX14 I didn’t really mean on the eye-to-eye level, I just meant as a type of first-glance comparison
@ShadowTG. Could you please point me to the grammar errors? English is not my first language ( I don’t even live in an English talking country, all my knowledge of the language comes from high school classes and the internet), and I try my best to write in English, but sometimes things are not as good as it should be for an English talking site. If when you spot something that is not OK in English you tell me, I will use that info to improve my skills and do it better next time. Thanks you.
@Andrea Gil “it’s” should only be used as a short form of “it is”. In this article you should say “its” which means “belonging to it” e.g. Sonic has broken its release date again. Hope my explanation helps
Woah this game looks dope on the 3ds =D. I can compare this game to the consoles eye to eye easily, but with a slight texture swap. Good to see thats its basicaly the same game. Next main Sonic game such as a unleashed engine type game, i hope the 3ds can compare with a few minor details instead of use the Sonic Rush side-scroller type graphics.
Looks really comparable to the consoles im impressed. Imma get this game cause im kinda low on 3ds games and im bored. I hope the next main sonic game for the 3ds & the consoles are similar to eachother but with some texture swaps here & there and proper framerate, sorta like how generations 3ds wasnt the same as the consoles
@f00had Thank you very much, your explanation really helped!
