Did Console Owners Get Shafted?
Though there were some rather interesting characters that came with the PC edition of Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed that could have some hurdles making it to home consoles–notably the main cast of Team Fortress 2–there remain a couple other extras that made us wonder if Sega should think about bringing them to the rest of the userbase.
The latest TSSZ @Issue poll asked if you thought Sega should release the PC exclusive racers on home consoles as PC. Many thought it should be done, albeit in different ways. Out of 830 votes, 47 percent voted Yes outright, while 41 percent thought the release should happen, but only as free DLC. The remaining 12 percent voted no.
A new poll is now available to vote on. You can discuss this poll’s result below in the comments.

What exactly was there besides TF2 and why should I care?
3 extra characters vs. an over-2-month wait.
Concerning the extra characters, all of them were from PC-exclusive games, so it makes sense. If there are any decent characters whose games are exclusive to a certain console company (Like Phantom R, since Rhythm Thief was 3DS-only), they should be made DLC, and Segata Sanshiro, Vectorman, etc should be cross-platform DLC.
Besides, I don’t think the creators of TF2 would let Sega use the TF2 team in any version besides the PC version.
Darn straight it should be free DLC!
Why make us pay for what’s already there? :/
I voted “no”. While it would be nice for the console/portable versions to get these characters, I know there’s zero chance of it happening.
I voted the same as Groudon.
I said yes, but only as free dlc, even though tf2 is the only one that makes sense (remember the orange box) we got super monkey ball, which before it came to the vita was a nintendo console/handheld exclusive as far as I know.
For not getting TF2 characters?
Not at all. Wouldn’t get them even for free. I don’t need to fill half the roster with non-SEGA characters. What I need is characters like Vectorman, Toejam & Earl, Sketch Turner, Axel Stone, and other REAL SEGA All Stars.
I’m in the mindset that most others expressed in that I just don’t have an interest in these characters. More for free is great, but I’m not even sure if these characters won over the PC audience- All-Stars Transformed has remained around the 3rd and 4th page on Steam in the best-selling category since its release, and I doubt that bodes well for Sega.
@MetaRyan TF2 was also in the Orange Box, so it makes some sense that console owners would wanna play as them.
>bitching about wanting it for free
What are you guys, poor?
I don’t get all the people saying there are so many 3rd party characters, it’s almost as bad as when brawl came out.
They have little to no business on the console versions.
I can’t get over the Sonic Reducks thing.
@MM2-It’s not so much that we don’t want to spend money. It’s that we don’t want to spend money for data that’s already there. It’s the same kind of problem that Street Fighter X Tekken had with their DLC being on the disc with people being forced to shell out money for the simple act of unlocking it.
@EnzeruAnimeFan
Oh, really? I didn’t know that. It’s just that everyone I know who plays it plays it on the PC, so I assumed it was PC-exclusive.
@MM2
WTF no. For one, the data was excavated from the console versions, so paid DLC would be paying for what you already have. Second, there’s no reason console owners shouldn’t get (for free) what PC users get for free.
I voted “yes, for free” but not for the TF2 characters, I didn’t expect to get those anyways. I just know that somewhere down the line they’re gonna try to sell me Shogun and Football Manager and it’s going to piss me off, even if they’re part of a pack.
@Jeffrey Mass: You should probably get over it soon. It wasn’t funny the first time, and it’s still not funny now.
