Watch the game in action
Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed for Nintendo 3DS is coming out this Friday in Europe and next Tuesday in America, and now you can see two new videos of the game, directly recorded from the console, so best image quality is ensured.

The frame rate is not very good. The rest seems to play okay. However, the frame rate ultimately ruins it for me.

Again, the framerate seems to be caused more by Youtube, or the capture card, than by the game itself. I don’t think it will be that choppy.
I take back what I said on the last post. This looks great for 3DS. At least it’s the real deal and not some dumbed-down version of the game.
@ A
I thought that as well when I first saw that the videos were from Youtube, but the comments from the uploader confirm that the game actually plays with that frame rate. However, I will try it out anyways at my local Gamestop before making any finite decisions about this version of the game. I am impressed with the visuals though and I am sure they look better on the 3DS’s smaller screen rather than my large computer monitor.
@AM
Crap.
@A
A capture card won’t affect preformance at all not like something like FRAPS would, if you notice the framerate shits the bed during transformations likely thanks to the absurdly low amount of of RAM the 3DS has compared to even the lamest smart phone on the market.
It has 128MB but at least half or around that is taken up by the OS. For this game each race has 8 racers and 24 possible kart model that swap into one another at any time, the 3DS’s limited RAM means they are probably loading the data from the cart when you transform instead of having it preloaded in RAM which has a big impact on framerate.
@SSJ,
You have never really played a 3DS, have you?
It is really nice that aside from some graphical flourishes that portable version are offering more or less the same experience and content as the consoles.
There is said to be a demo coming out to the eShop, so if the framerate is that big an issue, you can try it first.
The framerate looks alright if you ask me, but I’m not one to be worried over framerate that much.
As anyone thought that the in-game DLC might be one of the characters chosen in the Vote your DLC character? Maybe that’s why they delayed until after the voting?
Lol this is old, but according to the uploader Ocean View is the laggiest stage on this version.
