Sega Removes Reference to Potential new Mobile Game
A job listing posted by Sega Europe on the professional social network LinkedIn briefly referenced a potential new mobile Sonic game in the works, following on the heels of Sonic Jump.
The listing, at one point, referenced both Sonic Jump and a yet unannounced title called Sonic Dash, according to Sonic Stadium’s Dale Gennard, who caught the listing. Though difficult to overtly tell whether Dash will be the direct successor to Jump, it should be noted the job listing was for Sega’s Hardlight development studio, which created Jump.It should also be noted Sega representatives have already advised of several digital and one major Sonic game in the works for this year.
The slip-up and subsequent correction tells us someone at Sega probably let the cat out of the bag. So, we’ll be sure to let you know what becomes of Dash when the company makes it official in due course. Thanks to AugieD who tipped us on Twitter.

Darn, I thought it was gonna be a console title when I first read the title. Oh well, it has a cool name at least.
Do you think it could possibly be a revival of the 3D sonic tech demo that was shown on the DS back in 2004? Or just a remake of one of the Sonic Cafe games perhaps?
I’m sure one of those has had the name Sonic Dash before.
OMG… that name. Probably the most predicted title name for a Sonic game ever. XD
Heck, yesterday I wondered how SEGA could take advantage of a really low-budget game as Sonic Jump (aka, a sort of sequel), and I thought “Sonic Dash” (which would be essentially a 2D on rails game, with lots of character-DLCs).
Not hatin or anything btw. But too bad it is a mobile game like Sonic Jump.
Reminds of that Pokemon game. Wasn’t it called Pokemon Dash?
Are you sure it’s a mobile game and not a handheld game?
My guess is that +this future Sonic Dash game will be like the Sketchog game from the 20th anniversary! ^^
@AshtonNextGen
Sonic 2 Dash was a port of Sonic 2 for cell phones from a couple years ago, it’s really really unlikely that it has any connection to this.
@Knuckles Chaotix
It and Jump are stated as being their first iOS projects.
Watch it be Sonic Temple Run. That would actually work perfectly…
@A
I wish is were something like that. Probably not.
No one else wondering about this “building on the success of their first projects on iOS – Sonic Jump & Sonic Dash”…how can an unreleased game like Sonic Dash be listed as a “success” along with Sonic Jump, when it hasn’t even been released? Unless i am reading that wrong somehow.
inb4 dat’s da name of mer fern cherater.
@Tenko
Job listings tend to do things like that in order to fluff up their portfolio.
@Sonaco
Dash the Norwegian Forest Cat
I’m beginning to question whether these leaks are being done on purpose… almost always happens with Sonic
@Shawn: At this point, I think everyone’s wondering why Sonic news is always getting leaked.
@ Amuro
Hmmm could it be incompetence or brilliance in leaking info on SEGA’s part? We fans are often left to wonder…
