The Holdouts Reap the Benefits
This week is a good week if you have an XBOX 360 and are looking to expand your Sega library. Several Sega titles received deep discounts as part of Microsoft’s XBOX Live Deal of the Week promotion.
Fan favorite NiGHTS Into Dreams has seen its price cut in half, from 800 to 400 MSP. That’s the equivalent of $5 in US money. The three Model 2 arcade brawlers–Virtua Fighter 2, Fighting Vipers, and Sonic the Fighters–have seen 60 percent discounts, and are now 160 MSP a piece. But Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown gets the deepest discount. The game is now 400 MSP, a markdown two thirds off the regular price.
The deal runs until Monday.

I would of gotten Virtua Fighter 5 FS but the original was only £2.70 last week during Microsoft’s large games on demand sale.
Probably would of waited if I had known but ehh, no biggie.
(Unless there’s a serious reason I should own both versions of the game?)
Is there a specific place on the dash you have to access these deals? Because when I search for StF it’s still listed at full price.
Nevermind, apparently it’s a Gold membership thing. Weak.
@ChaoticFox: You’re kidding, right? Ugh, fuck that noise. I hated it when Sega did that for the Generations demo when that was first released
@Amuro: I guess that means the GOLD-outs Reap the Benefits. XD (yeah, that riles me up, too)
Pateince really does pay off. I’ve been in no hurry to buy games for 5 years at least now, and have saved hundreds of dollars easily. I’ll be purchasing NiGHTS when I get home, though I already own the original VF5 so i’d need to look up some incentives for getting the Arcade version. I may get Sonic the Fighters though I conveniently own the other model 2 fighters on the Saturn.
@AshtonNextGen
VF5:FS has two additional characters, and a, more or less reworked move-set for all the characters, as well as some general changes, like throw escapes. It’s more accessible than vanilla, and more balanced as well. Overall it’s the better game.
Good thing I’m going to Gamestop this weekend.
How much in US dollars is 160 MS Points? Isn’t it like 80 cents for every 50 points? Ugh, MS’ point system is so fucking awful, whoever designed it needs to die! Contrarily I wish Nintendo had stuck with theirs (easy to use and no tax). Also, yeah totally weak that it’s Gold only, I just let my Live run out this year.
