Chao must drink lots of milkshakes to grow strong
Sonic’s attractive does not only remain in the video games realm, but also on many other markets…even if SEGA has nothing to do with it.
Ecuadorian milkshake brand Leche Saborizada Toni has used the Chao Kindergarten music from Sonic Adventure 2 as a background accompaniment in their new milkshake product Forti3 website. Presumably, without permission of SEGA.
You can visit the ad site at www.forti3.com , and listen to the Chao Kindergarten music, at least while Sega moves up their legal department and cease and desist the site, something that at the moment of writing this report hasn’t happened yet. But, just to be cautious, you can also watch it at the next video:
It’s not the first time Sonic music has been used in several adverts and commercials without Sega’s permission, do you remember any more? Tell us at the comments section!

the page also has some songs from kingdom hearts xD
Perfect!
Lets add a rather bizarre twist to this… http://youtu.be/JCAcOW1pxqI
I do remember local TV here using many game soundtracks for their show, including Sonic.
Who gives a shit?
I do remember one time I was just watching random channels and one of the ads on one of them had SA’s Sky Deck music.
I remember an ident for CBBC years ago stealing various sound effects from the old Sonic games (the jump sound, and various casino effects)
@ChaoticFox: I remember that video! It was by the same dude who made the CG rendition of the Sonic 2 ending.
Now that I think about it, the hell ever happened to that guy? His animations are pretty damn good.
What about those gas-station cash registers that use the Sonic Ring Sound Effect? Does that count? 0.0
This is news? Seriously?
Personally, I think Sega does let some of these companies use their music and sound effects. There is such a thing as licensing agreements ya know. As one poster mentioned, every Shell gas station I’ve been to in the recent years has used the ring collect sound effect at their cash registers.
I actually like the ring sound at gas stations. It makes me smile whenever I hear it.
Agreed about the ring sound. Usually hear it at Shell stations around here. Good stuff. I’d hate Sega if they were to sue over that.
Slow news day eh?
I don’t imagine that the ring sound is owned by Sega because Windows 7 has a very similar sound in one of their OS themes.
And personally, I don’t think Sega minds the free publicity as long as the company is not blatantly rebranding Sonic material as their own and trying to make a killing doing so.
Ah, who cares. It’s not like they’re selling it.
An episode of the xfiles has the green hill zone music. An episode of touched by an angel had music from dr robotnik’s mean bean machine. Then in an episode of the office, will Ferrell whistles the song from marble zone.

@Sonictoast
Holy shit you weren’t kidding about 10 minutes into the the episode Goodbye Micheal Will Ferrell’s character whistles Marble Zone!
OMFG. I’m from that country. (Ecuador) Ha!
That chocolate milk is really fucking good, I gotta admit it.
@Sonictoast: Awesome trivia. Just goes to show that this article, even if it was meant to just churn out news on a slow day, got some cool information to come out of the woodwork!
