Several interviews point to more zones, and an Android version
Sonic Dash is the latest Sonic title released to mobile devices, and since it was released a few weeks ago, their developers, Hardlight Studios, are all around the net telling the world about their latest baby. They’ve given several interviews to a few sites, and revealed quite a few interesting tidbits about the game and it’s future.
In an interview given to Modjo, they talk about what makes Sonic Dash different from other endless runner games like Temple Run, their relationship with Sonic Team and how they influenced directly on the development of the game, and the difficulties of developing the game in so many different iOS devices. At the same time, they were asked if an Android version of the game was going to be released, and they pointed to it, but didn’t confirm anything.
In another interview run by site SegaBits, they pointed to the possibility of seeing more zones besides Seaside hill in the game, along with more updates to it. They confirmed there will be updates, but didn’t disclose of what kind. Also, confirmed that Sonic Jump isn’t going to be abandoned, and it will get more updates down the road too. They also talked about the possibility of an Android version, who along with the recent slip up Sega made at their official website, makes almost officially confirmed that an Android version will be out sometime in the near future.
Last, but not least, they talked about a cancelled PS Vita game they were working on, telling that it looked good, and if things go fine, they might give it another try in the future.

It seems silly to not have had more stages in the beginning. I mean, they built a Sonic runner without a Special Stage motif? Then again this IS mobile so…
A cancelled Vita game? I wonder if they mean a fully fledged game or a time passer like Sonic Dash…
To be honest, even if the Vita isn’t doing so hot right now, if SEGA were to release a killer Sonic game on it, then tons would surely buy the game. That, and there aren’t so many Vita games to pick up right now. I think it would be a good idea for a Sonic Vita.
However, why a Sonic Vita before a Sonic 3DS? SEGA makes the strangest decisions…
Sonic 3DS was Generations.
@HeatPhoenix – Aside from Generations 3DS being a completely different experience from the consoles, it was still not its own Sonic game like the Rush series.
I’m just wondering why SEGA ignores a kid-friendly handled with a install base of 30 million.
I’m sure 3DS hasn’t seen the last of Sonic, guys. It’s a shame they had to cancel the Vita project, but it’s understandable since alotta kids don’t own one, it’s mostly owned by adults. You’d think with PS Mobile it’d be easier to develop for, but oh well. I wanna see this game on my android tablet.
A Sonic PS Vita game…? WHY DID THEY CANCEL IT! I have wanted a PS Vita Sonic game for so long, and they finally answer my cries… and CANCEL IT? NO!!!!!!!!!!!
I wonder what it would’ve been like…
They better make it free in the Android version of fucking sonic dash e_e
Ooh. I would have bought it on PS Vita…
@Ricardo
They didn’t, Sonic Generations was a mainline Sonic game for the 3DS, right?
Really waiting for new missions to get new red rings, cause doing my best didn’t even allow me to get Amy, i had to give up that stupid mission where u have to lose your rings 20x in the same run, that s been a pain for me for more than 3 days , so i “bought” the mission’s success with a few red rings i had, and it s the reason why i don ‘t have enough now to get Amy. This also means tails and knux can so far ONLY be unlocked by spending REAL MONEY…. this game is cool but ruined by all the messages that pop up to urge you buying rings or red rings… Should ve been called sonic CASH ……..
@HeatPheonix – I guess if you view it that way, Sonic Generations 3D is mainstream for the 3DS, but it was still happened because of the consoles versions.
I’m just waiting for a Sonic Rush 3, if you know what I mean.
