Ohhhh… I do not have a good feeling about this… Anyone remember that when things were restored, they were done so correctly to avoid the world tearing itself apart? Well, that blast Eggman sent last issue… Uh, yeah… The world is still screwed up, only a matter of time before it tears itself to pieces. Unless the Death Egg Mk. 2 can use a Genesis Wave to correctly restore the world. But without all of the Chaos Emeralds…
Also, so much for our predictions of Ixis Nauffery, looks like Naugus is normal, minus his magic, and the three voices in his head. I wonder what other changes happened?.. And how unpredictable they may be? Least the Tails Doll is still rampaging, but I wonder where Rotor, Big, Heavy and Bomb are? We know where Cream is, but I still have to wonder where the rest of Team Freedom is… And for that matter, what happened to the Secret Freedom Fighters? Is Shard alive? What about Larry? And where the heck did Silver end up? Will we see Leta and Lyco? What about Harvy and Elias? Guess we’ll just have to wait for next week or so for those of us who subscribe.

this.
::Does a second take on Naugus:: Whoa whoa whoa! Detail from SatAM has been added to Naugus. He has a tail, not covered in cloth, but he does have a tail. He didn’t have one before except for his mutations, what gives? Also, while I like Nicole’s design, I’m more interested in the name she called Naugus. Wally? And why did he get so upset with it? I hope Nicole has some answers for us.
Well so much for all of those plot threads that they worked so hard on! Well, besides Naugus…come to think of it, they might find a way to keep the state of the Echidnas the same. But still, I hope this doesn’t mean that teams and plots I have fallen in love with, such as Team Freedom, Team Fighters, Team Secret (you know who I mean), the Death Egg II/Mecha Sally arc, Shard/Nicole, the new badass Metal Sonic, and Geoffrey…poor poor Geoffry…
Well, hopefully it will be revealed over time that all of that stuff wasn’t for nothing and that it will continue in some shape or form in the series.
Yep, looks like a reboot as of now that is a mixture of old Archie, Genesis, and the segaSonic world. I’m still gonna give it a chance but if this is a “we now have vague continuity” similar to DC’s New 52 and it sticks around but doesn’t grab me or sell me on this amalgam of mobius I might have to pack it in on the Sonic comic train after all these years (not paranoia, just only basing it off my dislike of New 52 which also left plots dangling in favor of the tried and true reboot)
Wowww, I’m really liking this!
I think Naugus is being driven deeper into insanity with all of these Genesis Wave flashbacks.
I hope Sonic can undo this alerted timeline Eggman caused.
My money is on the fact that the damage Eggman caused to the Sonic world at the end of Worlds Collide has changed the world to remove any and all characters whose copyright is not controlled solely by sega/archie right now. If any of Penders characters exist in the new continuity, I will be surprised.
Unless it simply catches up with Sonic later, it would appear that being Super Sonic prevented his memories from being altered during their world’s reboot. He remembered Mega Man, and does not seem to understand what is going on now. Sonic has become the audience surrogate character for all of the ways the continuity has been changed, because his mind still thinks in terms of the Pre-World’s Collide continuity.
…I just checked and Ken Penders wrote the story that created Jules the Hedgehog. Sonic’s dad could be gone, and only Sonic will remember him. That could be great for some drama if done properly.
The audience that already reads the comics would be able to notice the changes themselves and go with it just like every other reboot/soft reboot in existence. Anyone that jumps on from the crossover will be confused that the comic is juggling/referencing two continuities all because of some legal drama they most likely don’t know about.
“The audience that already reads the comics would be able to notice the changes themselves and go with it just like every other reboot/soft reboot in existence. ”
Clearly you’ve never seen fan reaction to any major reboots/retcons.
The universe that I’ve grown to learn and understand will change, but it’ll be fun to learn of the new one that’s to come, and I have nothing else thats sonic to read,so yeah. Looking pretty good so far.
Once again Ian is simply unable to drop a retcon bomb and just leave it as the new status quo no questions asked, but no we have to have characters realizing it constantly with constant callbacks. What a confusing mess.
from what I read, this will be similar to the genesis 4 parter, basically it’ll be an apocalyptic take on the current saga (or atleast with some cataclysmic event) that’ll be resolved perfectly (ish) by the end. hopefully with all the redesigns intact.
I blame Penders. If he left well enough alone, or wasn’t so adamant, Ian could’ve picked up were the book left off in 247.
But no, he had to keep pushing, and now we have this arc to read through to see if Archie will keep the old continuity or drop it and start fresh so they can avoid the legal problems behind them.
Would it be that simple to drop a retcon bomb after all the stuff that’s been left over from before the crossover?
And it’s back to sucking for the comic, barely one issue into the new saga and already we’re back to the same lame old garbage with a magical plot coupon and the same old idiot quick fix to problems.
Tails doll goes down in a few pages despite being billed as a freaking eldritch menace, the Naugus plot is solved in the dumbest way ever and before the issue’s even over we’re getting set up for another “Lol, gotta find and save Sally plot.”
Guess all those good things the past two years cooked up really were just a big filler arc.
