30 of 50 United States Now Established
TSSZ has learned that Sonic Revolution, the grassroots effort that stemmed from Sega moving their official Sonic Boom fan convention from California to St. Louis, Missouri this year, has undergone a significant expansion of regional divisions.
A full list of meetup Facebook group now consist of 35 divisions, and now represent more than three-fifths of the continental United States. Three separate divisions for California are also part of the mix, as is a group for London, for the whole of Australia, and the territory of Western Australia.
A full list of meetups for you to join based on your region is here. We should note that Revolution co-organizer Shayne Edwards also runs Sonic Radio, which is a TSSZ affiliate.

Of course it doesn’t come to Iowa.
CUZ IOWA SUCKS.
No, seriously, people say it stands for Idiots Out Walking Around.
Hello there Aidan! Don’t be deterred; these chapters are not controlled by Revolution, so much as sponsored and connected by it. Many of them actually were started by fans – in London and San Diego’s cases, they were started BEFORE Revolution was even founded.
If you founded a Sonic Iowa, I would be more than happy to add it to our Index and promote it for you. That’s the idea behind Revolution, fan empowerment – fans anywhere can have their own meetups and we will do what we can to spread the word. Hosting a meet’s relatively simple – you start a group, and after it finds enough people, you agree on a time and place to do the actual meet. Don’t hesitate to found your own group!

If I knew anyone in this town who liked Sonic, I would. XD Well, thanks for the info!
haha yay – my state has five members
Wow! This is really taking the Internet like fire. Who knows? We may get as big as some Trekkie clubs. (I am a TOS Trekkie, by the way. Star Trek Continues FTW!)
ew
*Scratches head in confusion*
A lot of these have zero members. So its not as big as it might seem. But it can still grow i guess Though i feel like its a better plan to try and make one centralizedeetup like they do in the uk rather than a bunch of small ones. Though what do i know
Our central meetup would take the form of Sonic Revolution, a con to be held in SoCal next year; fans everywhere are welcome to attend.
Some of the groups are close to empty, yes, but the idea was to simply get them established as part of something I called “Operation: Spring Yard.” That way, there’d be pages for fans to find and join… and once enough fans joined, the meetups would follow. A lot of fans are hesitant to form their own groups, so for a lot of places I took that step for them. 😛
It’s ultimately up to the members themselves to do the bulk of the organising, though!
Alaska plz
If you found Sonic Alaska, Phantom, the Revolution Team would be more than happy to promote it for you!
What about you guys, Tristan and the rest of the staff at TSSZ News? Are you guys going to join up, too, now, have you done it already, or are you waiting until later?
I am glad that a Minnesota sonic group exists! I hope the meetings are close to my area!
The Minneapolis area is looking fairly promising!
There should be some ground rules like appropriate shirts and a no costume policy! also is there a age restriction?
That is ultimately the decision of each group!
Over in England, the Sonic London meets have an 18+ policy to account for the fact they usually meet at pubs.
I’m the founder of Sonic Nevada and plan on setting a minimum age of 13 or so.
The beauty is each chapter, while supported and sponsored by Revolution (even the ones not set up by us), gets to decide its own rules!
Ooh, there’s one here in Ohio. Might have to pop in and see what’s up.
It’s small, but the more people it gets the sooner meets will start coalescing!
THANK GOD there’s a TN one! I hope it’s close to where I’m at!
Hey there Hannah!
These groups don’t have a particular defined meetup place; they are just groups the fans from/around those areas can go to keep up on meetup news and work on organising their own meets. For example, fans from Tallahassee and Miami could both use Sonic Florida as a vehicle to arrange meetups in those respective areas. Though in the case of Florida, it’s looking like any meet will probably cement around Tampa.
