A Compendium of Music and Comic Information
This week, we turn the Fan Friday spotlight toward a Sonic fan site that’s existed, in some form, for longer than some fans of the franchise have been alive: Sonic HQ. Founded on June 26, 1997, Sonic HQ started life as Zifei’s Sonic Page. After being renamed to Sonic HQ in April 1998, the site underwent several changes in design and management until around 2007, when it became dormant and functioned largely as an archive site. Then, in 2011, a contributor named Lighthead took the reins and transformed the site into the information hub that remains online and frequently updated to this day.
Today, the site largely functions as a compendium of multimedia and comic information. It contains an exhaustive listing of nearly every Sonic comic that’s been published since the original series began as well a very complete listing of music from the series in both streamable and downloadable form. Their extensive archive page also contains some interesting tidbits, including past versions of the site and interviews with Ian Flynn and Ken Penders that go all the way back to 1998. Additionally, there are descriptions of nearly every episode of every Sonic TV show alongside information about how to watch them.
You can check Sonic HQ out at the link above. As always, if you have a fan project you want the world to know about, send us a link at email@example.com!
