Exceptional Art, Straight from Japan

Fan Fridays is kicking off 2014 with some of the best art we’ve featured in a while, art from a Japanese artist known as MRi. MRi brings a harder edge to Sonic throughout much of their work with a darker color palette, sharp line work, and detail to spare. The end result is a striking and somewhat different take on the familiar characters we’ve grown used to. We have selected a few of their more interesting pieces for your consideration: an injured Silver, a bullet-riddled showdown between Sonic and Shadow, a decorative Sonic ringing in the new year, and a rather abstract rendering of Crush 40 in concert.

You can check out more of MRi‘s stunning creations in their deviantART gallery here. We thank Skai Cyan for brining their work to our attention. As always, we’re on the lookout for fan works to spotlight, so if you have a project you want the world to know about, send us a link at fansonfriday@tssznews.com!
