“This could be the biggest SAGExpo ever”
Organizers of the 2014 Sonic Amateur Games Expo have a lot to be proud of this week, as indications are last week’s event was the most successful one to date.
In an update touting more than 100,000 visits as of Saturday, SAGE organizer Overbound said it’s hard to judge based on past history, but indications are good:
Anecdotal evidence is all I really have to go by to judge the success of the event. People close to past events have told me two things 1. one SAGExpo in the recent past got 50,000 page views and 2. SAGExpo typically gets 10,000 views a day. Based on that information we can guesstimate that recent SAGExpos get roughly 50,000 to 70,000 views. Which means with several hours left in the event we’ve already managed to 30,000 more views than average SAGExpo. It’s difficult to know for certain but this could be the biggest SAGExpo ever.
I want to thank everyone involved in the event from game creators and people who created art pages to all the sites that review the entries and twitch streamers who kept us entertained. Everyone involved is responsible for the success of this SAGExpo and fan gaming in general. So give yourself a pat on the back for a job well done.
It wasn’t long ago that many had left SFGHQ, fan gaming, and SAGExpo out for dead. Now we’re back better than ever and we’ve only just begun.
Act 2 of SAGE 2014 is scheduled to be held later this year.
