When it Will Air is Still a Mystery
We are at the onset of upfront season in the television industry, the time when broadcast and cable network entice current and potential advertisers with the shows they will serve viewers in the Fall and beyond. Today, it was cable network Cartoon Network’s turn to dish on their slate of programming, and in doing so, the network confirmed Boom will be on the schedule for the 2014/15 television season.
When it will air, however, is still not known. The release CN disseminated today, relayed by Deadline.com, didn’t offer any clues. Instead, this passage suggests a timeframe concurrent or close to the game’s release:
Sonic Boom™: Sonic the Hedgehog has been one of the world’s biggest gaming icons for over 20 years and this year a new branch of the Sonic universe debuts, entitled Sonic Boom™. With a new look for Sonic and friends, the franchise’s first-ever CG animated television series, an action-packed comedy adventure, will premiere on Cartoon Network with support from an extensive video game release of the same name. The Sonic Boom television series, coproduced by SEGA® of America, Inc. and OuiDO! Productions, will debut on Cartoon Network in the 2014/2015 season.
When the Sonic Boom TV series was first officially announced in October, Sega pegged it for air in the Fall. (It’s worth reminding that we exclusively brought you news of Boom last June.) The company has since backtracked on those initial remarks.

C’mon, CN! JUST GIVE US AN AIRDATE ALREADY! Seriously though, I’m looking forward to both the show & the game.
Um, 2014/15 TV season usually means the Fall TV season though (when most shows, especially prime time shows, premiere). All I’m seeing is SEGA giving a general timeframe and CN confirming it. I’m not seeing any backtracking. The game is already slated for this year, so we know the TV show won’t be far behind. I’d like to have a date confirmed myself, but this is good enough for now.
“It’s worth reminding that we exclusively brought you news of Boom last June.”
Is it…? Is it really worth reminding? We get it, TSSZ… Ya got something right, for a change. Here’s a cookie.
*Remembers “Sonic Dimensions”* … Wait, nevermind. Gimme the cookie back.
I can just imagine the TSSZ crew having a party at “TSSZ HQ” every time they get a rumor right.
Imagine the parties in Wolf of Wall Street. That’s about how we roll when we get rumors right.

With the really high end hookers or the really low end ones?
Chaos Controller: Some would argue Sonic Dimensions turned into Sonic Lost World.

I read this at first as: “Cartoon Network Confirms Sonic Boom Cancellation”
I honestly read this as ‘Cartoon Network confirms Sonic Boom for 14/15 Tv Seasons’.
I was thinking “Bloody hell, that’s a bit overambitious isn’t it!?”
Anyway, nevermind Cartoon Ruddy Network, when’s this going on the Cruddy internet?
Only people from the 90’s and 60’s still watch television, all us cool kids from the 80’s and 70’s know that if you can’t download or stream something, it might as well not bother exist!
You can’t download or stream pizza.
ARE YOU IMPLYING PIZZA SHOULDN’T EXIST.
One cannot live without pizza, without it, all is nothing.
Unless it’s one of those weird vegan pizza’s. You may as well suck on a cold slab of cheese!
Of course you can download Pizza, that’s one of Xbox One’s main features, provided you’re a gold subscriber
(That and watching you undress and sending thermal imaging of you sleeping to Microsoft HQ)
I no longer have faith in a network that can’t make a Batman show work.
But I liked Justice League and Batman: The Brave and the Bold. ;-;
Same here, heck, I loved Brave and the Bold, one of my fav Batman cartoons along with “The Batman” that was shown on Kids WB, and Batman Beyond.
nothing against those. My comments refers to the fact that CN has ended their broadcast of Beware the Batman.
It should be noted that Cartoon Network does occasionally premier shows in the summer. I remember Generator Rex and Ben 10 both started in summer then finished their first seasons in the fall.
Cartoon Network is terrible. Why are they keeping the premiere date from us? They know the fans want answers but they purposely withhold the information that we need. They gave dates for other shows. I don’t think they’re behind this show.
Former Sonic Fan
It’ll premiere in the Fall, it’s march. They probably don’t have an exact release date down yet.
What a bunch of teases! Release date 😀 I assume if not this summer; this fall…
Probably fall. That’s the usual time new show seasons start. Maybe even as early as september.
