Bentley Jones Says No Bad Blood with Sega After Legal Threats

Air From a Complaint Announced Years Ago Apparently Cleared

We haven’t checked in on former Sonic image song lead Bentley Jones, real name Lee Brotherton, in some time. When last we reported on him, he was busy with the WE R ANIMADE project, but before that, he was exploring possible legal action against Sega for the use of his songs without royalty payments in a then recently released compilation of Sonic music titled True Colors: The Best of Sonic the Hedgehog Volume 2.

Several years later, we have an update on that story. Today on the RadioSEGA produced The Sega Lounge podcast, Bentley Jones was a guest, and said there is no longer any bad blood between him and Sega:

It’s fine. It’s funny when people ask me this because there’s no bad blood between me and Sega. It’s just…in the space in between, I’ve just been busy with other projects. It’s pretty much as simple as that. [….] I’m assuming I have a good relationship with Sega.

Bentley made no direct reference to the previous legal threats made in 2010, but it appears all is better now–whether that means the accusations have been directly settled is unclear.
