Back for More, With Your Help
If you were (or are) a fan of the quirky Toejam and Earl series, you might want to listen up. Greg Johnson, one of the original creators of the series, recently launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund what could be the fourth entry in the series: Toejam and Earl: Back in the Groove. According to screenshots and videos, it looks and plays just like the original game did, with a fixed camera perspective, an emphasis on cooperative play, and lots of funky music. The game will also incorporate elements from Panic on Funkotron, like hidden presents and coin meters. Additionally, the cooperative play will extend to up to four players, both locally and online. The game’s primary target platforms are computers of all sorts (PC, Mac, and Linux), but it may see a release on other platforms over time.
The team behind the game is clearly excited about it, and it looks like the gaming community is as well. As of the time of this writing, the project has amassed nearly four thousand backers who have contributed just over half of the project’s $400,000 goal. We’ve provided some screenshots and video below so you can see what the game looks like in action. If you want to support the team and help fund Toejam and Earl: Back in the Groove, you can visit the project’s Kickstarter page and contribute there; you have a little over three weeks left to do so. We thank TheMagicalDreamer for bringing this news to our attention.
