Sonic-esque On Your Couch
If you’ve been wishing that Freedom Planet (review) came to another platform besides the PC, well, you’re partially in luck: GalaxyTrail’s Stephen DiDuro announced at PAX East 2015 that the game will also be landing on the Wii U eShop later this year.

@WiiWareWave It's too early to give a specific release date, but we believe it'll launch on the eShop around the end of the year.

This is particularly interesting, given the game was created using Clickteam’s Multimedia Fusion (now known as Clickteam Fusion). This software is typically not supported by the Wii U, but it would appear that GalaxyTrail has enlisted the help of Chowdren to help them port Freedom Planet over. Chowdren’s developer, Mathias Kærlev, tweeted this shortly after the announcement:
The cat is out of the bag – our port of Freedom Planet is coming to Wii U! https://t.co/n06BwVqjf0

Chowdren also supports the ability to port Clickteam Fusion games to the Nintendo 3DS, Playstation Vita and Playstation 4. Currently, Freedom Planet has only been announced to appear on the Wii U, but at least the potential is there, should the need arise.
