The restructure of SEGA has led some to question whether the upcoming Sonic movie is still in production. That questioning can now be put to rest.
A fan had a Facebook conversation with Takashi Iizuka. Although the discussion was brief one important detail was confirmed: Iizuka is supervising the film.
No further details were provided but the news does provide answers for the curious who wanted to know more about what is happening.

So does this mean the movie will be filled to the brim with wisps in our faces, the Chaos Emeralds hardly having any relevance, barely any plot with 90% of it being bad jokes, and as little action going on as possible, with the most action we get is Sonic hitting springs and dash pads, and the only characters being Sonic, Tails, Orbot, Cubot, and Eggman?
You forgot the part about it being live action and how that can potentially crash and burn so badly. Remember that Sonic Fan Film by Eddie Lebron with its poor animation, clashing themes and fingered Knuckles? That was the perfect laboratory example of how not to do a Sonic live action film.
I didn’t forget. I was making a joke about how the post-Colors games have been handled. I know perfectly well that live action was a stupid idea to begin with, lol.
The only main thing I’m worried about on this whole live action movie is how they’re going to do Eggman. I don’t think any of us wanna see 06 Eggman again or Eggman portrayed by a live actor. If only it was total CGI this would be perfect.
I don’t mind off the Sonic characters are CG, and the environments are real, but this is Sonic. Make it Sonic.
danidado i like your comment, i have the same opinion that lizuka was planning of saving 2 characters for last since i think we misunderstood what he was intended to do with dr nega and shadow both have same plot holes that somehow they both are tied more in depth of a back story, they might know each other in distant past that Gerald is not telling everything that shadow might be more that 10,000 years old and Gerald is not from 50 years as was been told, eggman family is been known of coincide the truths and lying, since ark is ancient colony that overseas the planet for more than 10,000 years apart. Due to unknown research dr gerald and his unknown brother of harnessing unknown energy source to power thier machine and weapon of defending peoples agression from the surface. What if the 8th dark emerald is hidden inside metallic version of shadow that mistakeing of looking as Sonic, I think thier more to it seems like Nega aways appears soulless puppet and the master is near
