Thanks to Nintendo’s official site over in Sweden (And an article from Sonic Stadium) we can now share with you the box art to the 3DS version of the game:
You may notice in the top right corner that the Amiibo logo is there, an indicator that the 3DS version will have Amiibo support. Although it wasn’t officially confirmed to be the same for the Wii U version it is safe to say that the same will apply there.
We’ll let you know more as the game continues to get closer to release in 2016.

Nope, sorry. Can’t say I care.
Can’t wait to get this for my “Wii U”! Also can’t wait to watch the Summer 2016 games.
I hope this game has it’s own amiibo set! It would be awesome to have a line of Sonic character amiibo!!
This. I need my Blaze Amiibo.
Yes! Blaze amiibo please!!
You spelt Big wrong. Seriously, Big doesn’t get enough love.
Yay, let’s encourage more hogging up with Happy Meal garbage with no purpose other than being part of obsessive collectors souvenirs !
Because, screw quality games ! We need more useless garbage ! 😛
Why can’t it be both? Smash Bros. is a quality game and has 50+ tied or to be tied to it. Going away from Amiibo and/or other NFC powered toys, what’s the difference between them and any given collector’s edition with a figure. I bought the MH4 Collector’s edition and the Gore Magala figure does jack shit, it LITERALLY has no purpose. That however doesn’t make MH4 any worse of a game. I also bought a Rita Mordio mini figure that was sold separately from Tales of Vesperia, it again does nothing yet does not make the game any worse.
You wanna argue Amiibo functionality fine, it’s also a debate I’m willing to have, but you’re not doing that. There is nothing inherently wrong with a product existing to be bought by people who want it.
The game devs don’t make the figures, why the fuck would you think they’re related at all? All they do is add some feature for using them, usually being very insignificant
I wonder how W/e dude will insult this?
Please, don’t start the nonsense.
Hey, at least W/e is one person always showing common sense here.
Once again an opinion =/= common sense.
“Opinion=\=common sense”
Why? Because you disagree with it?
W/e dude is 100% right with his posts whether you agree or not.
Nope. I, too, am not that fond of Sonic’s situation right now and I have gotten weary of Boom. But people are perfectly allowed to feel otherwise just as much he he’s allowed to feel the way he does. It doesn’t matter how “right” he is. There’s no right or wrong with simply liking a game or cartoon regardless of what things point to. Unfortunately, I’ve noticed increased hostility towards this. To be fair though it has been on both sides.
Did somebody summoned me ? 😛
Anyway, I don’t see this game going anywhere. Nobody is excited about it. Literally, everyone is tired of these sorry Olympics games and would like to see a real crossover, or a regular Sonic game.
There are also 2 repelling factors in this game : Zazz and Sticks. Enough said.
Maybe it will it a million copies sold……….But only because of both versions combined. But again, I don’t see it going anywhere.
I can say one thing about this, it FINALLY advertises Mario and Sonic the way they should ALWAYS be advertised, as RIVALS.
Technically, haven’t we already seen the boxart?
Yes and no.
“Friendly” Rivals ftw
I really liked the London one. I hope this one has multiple maps, it would really help the little replay value. Also, I think just about everyone wants a Mario and Sonic amiibo series. Regardless if we get a Big amiibo that is only compatible in one game, I want it.
“everyone wants a Mario and Sonic amiibo series.”
ROFLMAO Sure…..
Potato.
Do I have to flip to every single controller and control system ever known to Nintendo in every single mini game in this one.
I practically played the last one only once with how aggravating it was to play. “Ok this event you need a wiimote and use it on its side” “ok in this event you need a Wiiboard” “ok in this you need a Nintendo flight stick and a coat hanger”
The problem with the WiiU I find is that the controller constantly kills your immersion. I shouldn’t be looking at my controller ever.
“ok in this you need a Nintendo flight stick and a coat hanger”
I laughed at that part, but it’s true.
I don’t really see how it kills the immersion, in most games it’s either the same thing projected on the gamepad or a map which is really useful
Mario’s face is definitely a “How the hell is this idiot still alive?! Why do I have to participate in this??”
