Sonic Mania Hard-Boiled Heavies, Key Art Released

During yesterday’s SXSW Sonic panel, Sega revealed two key pieces of artwork: One concerning the group of new core enemies scattered throughout the game (dubbed the Hard-Boiled Heavies), and key art intended as box art for the game’s final release–amid intense lobbying for a physical release to be among it all.

Today, Sega released clean versions of both, which you can find below. The Heavies artwork will afford fans looking for more clues to try and guess how many in all Sonic and company will face in their time with Mania. We count six. How about you?

Now that we know that Sonic Mania’s been delayed, you may wanna restart, or maybe even move on to a new Issue poll.

So when Sonic Team makes the Deadly Six, it’s uncreative, bland, and considered terrible, BUT when Sonic Mania pulls the same stunt except with Eggman robots it’s just fine. I may be incorrect in saying this since I don’t really know enough about these guys yet, but the whole silhouette thing made me think of the Deadly Six’s reveal immediately. Oh well, I’m still interested regardless. 🙂

To be fair, the Eggman robots aren’t really the same. They’re not Yeti, they don’t have personalities and well…they’re just shiny robots.
