Although it really shouldn’t have happened in the first place, you won’t have to worry about paying for Super Sonic in Sonic Forces anymore. According to the official Sonic PR, the DLC will remain free forever:

    yay, woo, I’m so excited

if you don’t get it…sarcasm. This never should’ve been a thing, paying for a optional upgrade normally available through in game unlock methods since the 1990s.

Agreed. The DLC charging is likely because they Sonic Team has been lost with this game from the get-go and they are trying to squeeze out every last bit of revenue from it. It is insane to think they really thought they could charge for basic in-game features when the game is seen as either barely good or mediocre in the eyes of many.

Thank you for not becoming 5% more assholeish, SEGA.

Man, even though the game’s lacking in so many areas, the way Sega’s been selling the game is an exemplar for AAA game in this age.

Yes, it shouldn’t have been announced in the first place, but not pulling the trigger for eternity before anything was hurt is really encouraging to me. EA’s going to be putting the microtransactions back into Battlefront 2 eventually, remember.

“It may seem simple, but a lot of people worked pretty hard to make this change happen over the last month. Really thankful for all of them, and the end result!”
It took all that work to get this obvious mess fixed, I feel bad for Webber no matter how hard he tries to keep the Sonic brand alive and positive SOJ/Sonic Team/Iizuka is gonna torpedo it because they are braindead about it and live in oppositeville. Never forget that they thought Mania was going to be niche instead of mainstream don’t let that live that down, a decade after the absurd success of NSMB over 3D Mario and they thought a earnest return to 2D Sonic would be niche. SOJ/Sonic Team/Iizuka should not be the custodians of this brand at SEGA.

Just remember dear friends…a lesson in KARMA and with all due respect…”What happens at EA stays at EA. Don’t be like EA!” GOT IT MEMORIZED!

Well, that’s an upside. Granted this SHOULD have been in the game to start and as an unlock, but better to be free than to shell out more money just to get something that simple. *cough*fuckCapcom*cough*

I need to ask you something way off topic… have we met before?

Are you related to anyone named Bethany?

It’s a long weird story if you wish me to tell it to you… please don’t be alarmed.

I’m curious if “forever” is a professional term or not. I mean, nothing is forever…

This reminds me of the “lifetime” warranty. If a company goes belly up and bankrupt next week, no more lifetime warranties for their customers. Or if a product gets discontinued and superseded five years down the road, they may just opt to send you a check for the original cost of the product and refuse to service the product anymore. Simple as that.

I’m surprised no one has mentioned how awful Super Sonic controls in this. Yes, I downloaded it, being one of few people who enjoyed Sonic Forces as it is way longer than Generations’ and there is a bit more replayability.

My jaw hit the floor when I jumped into classic Sonic’s super form, in a bad way, and my expectations weren’t all that high. He is maybe 5% faster than the regular Sonic, the eay he builds up speed is a snail’s pace compared to other titles with this super form, and the physics really glow even more than in his regular form(again, in a bad way). The super form for modern Sonic is a touch better, but .. overall, wow, what a disappointment.

I played as Classic Super Sonic (all of once I think) and didn’t notice anything too off kilter. Probably because I was dropdashing a lot.Same goes for Modern Super Sonic.
