Sonic at the Olympic Games on Mobile to Offer One-Time Payment for Contentby Tristan Oliver July 15, 2019
An interview published by Famitsu with Sonic at the Olympic Games director Eigo Kasahara reveals the mobile component of Sonic’s return to the Olympiad will come at a price–a one-time price.
As translated by Sonic JP News, the mobile game will follow a model different from past Sonic games on phones and more similar to Super Mario Run, where one area will be part of the initial free download, and the rest of the game can be unlocked with a flat, upfront fee. Says Kasahara:
The first area will be available for free. If players are interested in the rest of the game, they can buy the whole game with one-time purchase.
We don’t know what that price is yet, but according to Kasaharda, 15 games with extra courses, as well as additional mini-games will be part of the Mario-less mobile edition. Core characters such as Tails and Knuckles will also be playable. You can read the interview translated in English here.
