Console Wars to be Adapted into Documentary, Limited Series

by August 1, 2019

There’s some good news about the critically acclaimed Console Wars from Blake J. Harris, which chronicled the battle between Sega and Nintendo for home console dominance in the early 1990s.

With the movie and then TV rights in limbo for years, Deadline reports that CBS All Access has picked up the rights and will develop both a documentary and a limited series based on the novel for the streaming service.

Point Grey Pictures, from foreword writers Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, remain involved with both the documentary and series.

If you’ve not read Console Wars, it chronicles Sega’s rise to prominence in the video game industry under the stewardship of Thomas Kalinske and Al Nilsen in the face of politics and influences, both internal and external, working against the company.
