Amplitude Team Explains Sega’s “Humankind”

With this week’s announcement of Humankind at Gamescom, some have already compared the upcoming strategy title from Sega to another popular turn-based strategy series: Civilization.

In a video released this morning to social media, interviews conducted at the just concluded expo with Amplitude Studios creative director Romain de Waubert, as well as Narrative Director Jeff Spock attempt to explain what makes Humankind unique and different. Emphasis is placed on the idea of taking a colony from the dawn of human civilization all the way through to the present, with environmental interactions and other features.

The game will be out next year and is expected on at least the PC platform.

Civilization can get downright boring at times in its attempt to please everyone. I prefer the Call to Power series over it, so it is refreshing to another entry that will hopefully strive to offer something new and different.
