UPDATE: Another Sonic Movie Poster With Redesigned Sonic Appears

Another day, another Sonic movie rumor and another Sonic movie poster:

UPDATE: TSSZ has since verified the above image to be authentic and real, per a source with knowledge of the promotional material. TSSZ has learned the image was part of an email sent to movie theaters across the country that included a link to a survey for shipment of the promotional stand pictured. The email survey asks if theaters can “accommodate the standee.”

The timing guidance of the photo–theaters can start displaying the creative as early as next Tuesday, November 12th–suggests that Paramount may formally and officially reveal Sonic’s new in-movie design at or before that date, potentially in a new trailer.

It has now been over six months since the first Sonic movie trailer was released to widely critical fan reaction, prompting director Jeff Fowler to announce a delay to February 14th.

Seeing it closer now like this, this is indeed a better improvment over the previous design (aside from the blue colored arms but meh, no biggie).

I honestly love this design. If they announced that Sonic would look like this from this point on, I would be okay with it.

Plot twist: they planned to use a redesign all along and only used the ugly design to get everyone’s attention about the movie. Unlikely, but then again, IHOP’s IHOB social media marketing stunt worked, too, didn’t it? I believe they saw a huge boost in sales as a result. For years, people wrote off Sonic and even Mania didn’t get everyone talking about it despite its success story. This certainly did, though!
