The Christmas with Sonic series, now regarded as a long running end-of-year community tradition to celebrate the festive season among fans, will end this year, its creators announced.
With a heavy heart I'm announcing the final Christmas with Sonic video, "A Very Merry Christmas with Sonic". We've had a wonderful 8 years of doing these videos but the end has come. The video will be out in December. Don't be sad. We had a lot of fun while it lasted! pic.twitter.com/3JLC5zBZtK

Steven Page and Riana Dorsey, the duo who have created each chapter of the series from start to finish, announced Sunday this year’s A Very Merry Christmas with Sonic will be the last installment. The team cited multiple reasons, including Youtube’s changing algorithm tanking once strong viewership numbers for the series, and the significant financial loss incurred developing each episode, each contributing to the cause. The series of seven episodes, to date, has been viewed around 5 million times on Youtube.
Most importantly, the team wanted to end the series “while it’s still beloved.”
So that is where we are. We want to end the series while it's still beloved. We'd hate to drag it on for the sake of continuing it. We love the series and we are very sad to see it go but all things must come to an end. Thank you for understanding! pic.twitter.com/IQovPD507Y
