REPORTER
Do you have as much a passion for Sonic and Sega news as we do? Want to do more than relay press releases? Do you honor fairness and accuracy in reporting, and respect the truth?
TSSZ News currently has an open position for a general assignment reporter. We’re not your ordinary gaming site–we believe in the value of hard news and investigating, and for that reason, we are among the world’s top resource for Sonic and Sega news, reviews, and commentary. From time to time, other relevant gaming news is also reported. We live for it. Do you?
Believe in us, and we will believe in you. Qualified candidates will have access to a supportive environment, including a staff that isn’t afraid to take risks. Your work will be seen by a monthly reader base well into six figures. However, candidates must be willing to research, gather, and report news independently, at the rate of 3 to 5 stories a week. Candidates must exercise good news judgment, but must also balance press relations and opportunities with independent information that may not always be positive. A college degree is not required, but candidates must demonstrate outstanding skills in spelling, grammar, and composition. Candidates must have working knowledge of WordPress and some of its third party plugins. A presence in the UK or Europe is preferred, but not required.

TSSZ News currently has a hybrid position open involving newsgathering, moderating, and expanding the reach of this site. We’re not your ordinary gaming site–we believe in the value of hard news and investigating, and for that reason, we are among the world’s top resource for Sonic and Sega news, reviews, and commentary. From time to time, other relevant gaming news is also reported. We live for it. Do you?
This position involves wearing many hats. The ideal candidate will be responsible for moderating the comments and pingbacks received on TSSZ News for content and appropriateness. The candidate will also maintain the TSSZ News Twitter feed, and be responsible for conceptualizing and likely executing the expansion of TSSZ News on numerous non-traditional platforms, including but not limited to: Facebook, Podcasting, Internet Radio, and Mobile Applications. The candidate will also be expected to contribute up to three stories a week to TSSZ News, with a focus on covering the Sonic and Sega community.
Your work will be seen by a monthly reader base well into six figures. A college degree is not required, but candidates must demonstrate outstanding skills in spelling and grammar, and must also demonstrate fairness and show a level head in a moderator capacity. Candidates must have working knowledge of WordPress and some of its third party plugins. Web and mobile programming knowledge is a plus. A writing sample is preferred.
